I finally got to wear a silly outfit and receive my PhD on Thursday 4th September 2025 at Curtin University. This wouldn't have happened without the efforts of my supervisors David Whish-Wilson (pictured here in the middle) and Anne Ryden, who were unfailingly kind and helpful to me on my PhD journey. Thanks also to my lovely wife Naomi Mondello for being there alongside me over the past several years while I worked on this project. My sons Leon Critchlow-Salvidge and Roman also came along to support their old man on his big occasion. It was great to run into fellow newborn PhDs Paul Laverty (pictured here on the right) and Meg Caddy, who started and finished on the exact same days as me. I started at Curtin way back at the dawn of time, 1999, so it's taken me more than a quarter of a century to bring this journey to a happy conclusion. Plenty of other people helped me along the way, far too many to name here, and my heart is full of gratitude to you all.
